- About Me: Am a quirky introvert (INFP), passionate intellectual, and old soul. Looking for someone gentle and kind, full of curiosity, joy, and empathy. Originally from Madison, WI (moooooo!), but spent my undergrad days at Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire. The town is ridiculously small, but the campus is drop-dead gorgeous and the community very tight knit. I'd say I had a quintessential college experience in most senses--great friends, self discovery, drunken frat pong, you know... I also had a wonderful year in London at the Royal College of Music before going to (UC) San Diego, where I stayed seven years (...) getting my doctorate in music composition. Yes I love the weather, but I also miss the seasons of the Midwest and East Coast. I like people who see the world in vibrant colors, who get enthralled by life, for whatever reason, on a regular basis. I'm interested in pretty much anything, so long as it's "real." Also, I like to give hugs. I've been told I give good ones. When I was a kid, they called me "the barnacle." =P You could put me on someone's shoulder/leg, and I'd just camp out indefinitely.
- My Interests: Composing*, co-directing an LA-based arts non-profit, and getting certified as an educational therapist. * Music has occupied my heart since earliest memory. ...on par with oxygen as an existential necessity. I cannot imagine life without it, and in fact, I am more convinced every day that it is fundamentally (to quote Philip Guston) about \"trying to stay alive\"...in the sincerest of terms--outlet for a voice in constant, urgent need of escape beyond the self. As life obsessions go, it\'s certainly not the most practical or marketable, but I do consider myself blessed for it. No matter where I am, no matter what\'s going on... give me pencil and paper and I step into a world of infinite possibilities.
