- About Me: It's difficult to get to know someone reading an on-line profile. Life has been very good to me. From my beginnings in a small town I never thought I'd end up where I am today. I have danced in Hofburg Palace, appeared on television, acted on stage and worked with Presidents. The most important change in my life came when I became a competitive ballroom dancer. Some of my friends made it onto a certain TV show and that has made people much more aware of what I already knew which is that there are hidden talents and treasures within each of us. As a dance instructor, I have the opportunity to help many people achieve more than they ever thought possible. That is one of life's greatest beauties. I own a large Ballroom in Charlotte, so my life is very busy with teaching, competing, keeping fit, and studying my career. At 34, I retired from a successful career in television to pursue my dream of dancing professionally. I don't regret one minute of it. Working in broadcast news gave me a sense of purpose. I felt that informing the public was a way of making the world a better place. Maybe that's a bit idealistic. I am most stimulated when I find somebody who has an open mind. I love a person who can carry on an intelligent conversation and share opinions openly. Typically, I find that people judge too quickly and become paralyzed by their own fears. This causes most people to miss too much of life's deeper beauty. I try to find that deeper beauty in everything I do. I like to spend my spare time near the ocean. I'm an avid scuba diver, and adventurer. Some of my life's thrills include learning to fly a glider, shooting a commercial from a race car at 155 mph, and visiting the top of Machu Picchu in Peru. There is so much of life to experience. I can't wait for each new dawn so I can get out and live some more! I am fiercely passionate about everything I do; dancing, traveling, cooking, adventure. I love people who can live life at full throttle. If you've gotten this far, then I should tell you that even though I'm VERY much in the public eye, I am the one who will sit in a bar and not say a word. I am shy on first meetings and I would never presume to do something so forward as to approach a girl in a bar. I'm not really keen on this whole Meeting-on-line thing. I've had profiles here before, and what I notice is that our generation has completely lost the concept of chivalry. Girls have long profiles that tell why the reader should "move on." SHEESH! Guys write salacious e-mails in the hopes of some "Cyber-encounter." How sad! What is the real deal? It's this: A guy should meet a girl. They should find each other attractive. If they go out, he should pick her up at the front door, open car doors for her, walk on the correct side of her. Oh and yes ... pick up the tab at dinner. Did we somehow miss that? People on-line seem to be downright combative. That's not me. I'm not here to break down any barriers. I hope this profile has introduced me well enough. Since I'm shy about first meetings, the person for me would have to be someone who has no problem writing to tell me she's interested. She would also be able to handle someone whose passion to live is as intense as mine. Obviously, I love to dance, but I truly enjoy cooking a gourmet meal for someone who really loves to eat. I am not one to just nibble at a meal or at life. My ideal match would be someone who can share the big and the little things in life with me -- someone who would be comfortable spending a weekend scuba diving or curling up on the couch; jetting to The Caribbean or enjoying a picnic at the lake. On weekends, we would dance together and explore the world together. My dream is to go back to Spain and see my family there. I would love to find someone who can share that with me.
