Just trying to meet new people and see what happens

Hey, what's up? My name is Scott. In many ways, I'm just your typical nerd who's into video games, comic books, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc. But I like to think there's much more to me than a stereotype. My friends would tell you that I'm a super-nice guy that they can rely on me for help, support, advice, laughs, whatever they need.
I've got my life together, for the most part. I bought my own home a couple of years ago and am slowly teaching myself how to fix it up and make improvements. I've got a steady job, I'm emotionally available, I realize that relationships take time, commitment, hard work, trust, and good communication. When I meet my special someone i'll be more than happy to invest all of those things and do my utmost to make it work!
When it comes to my ideal match, she would share some of my interests but it's not necessary for us to be joined at the hip, I think that when a couple maintains their own social life and activities it strengthens the relationship and makes the time you do spend together even more enjoyable. I tend to find shyness attractive and am drawn to quirky women. If I had my druthers, I'd probably prefer a woman who is easy going, doesn't feel like she needs a lot of makeup to look good, and is as comfortable in jeans and a ballcap as she is in a fancy dress and heels — as opposed to someone who's high maintenance and doesn't leave the house until she's finished an hour long makeup and hair routine.
