  • Looking For:
I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking for. I think it's safe to say that I'm looking for a date. We're still not over the pandemic so I think it's best to try chatting over the internet for a while
  • An Ideal First Date Would Be:
If we're talking "ideal", that would be in person. I'm a little shy at first and a bit of an extroverted introvert, so a low-key first date would be best for me. I like the idea of coffee at a pla
  • About Me:
I'm a warm-hearted, smart, occasionally snarky weirdo trying to figure out my life with a little help from my friends. My friends being comprised of puppets, horror movie villains, and Steve Martin characters. Oh, and real life people, too. I guess they're important.

I've spent my life single and have come to appreciate the benefits thereof, but as I get older and spend more time alone I find myself craving the comfort of another human being. Or maybe a dog. Or a taxidermy bear. Look, I just want to cuddle okay???

Probably important to mention the major logistical reality of my life: I'm poor and I don't own a car. I mention these facts because let's face it, dating usually requires a little money and transportation. I probably won't be a glamorous date. Also, women my own age probably want a guy with more stability. I get it. I don't hold it against anyone.

I want to be upfront about this: I don't know if I'm a chaser or not. It's not like I'm *only* registered on a trans dating site but I did seek one out. I'm trying to be conscientious in seeking a transgender partner. If that's a concern, I understand.
  • My Interests:
By education and practice I'm a freelance story analyst (and neurotic screenwriter) with a long-term goal of college professorship in Film, preferably Screenwriting. To that end, I've taught some screenwriting and TV writing classes at an arts non-profit in Pittsburgh and I'll be teaching a screenwriting class at SUNY Fredonia for Fall 2021. The money's not great but I'm not in arts education for the money. I care about fostering talent in young filmmakers!

Clive Barker is one of my personal heroes! I love pretty much every book he's ever written, my favorite being Weaveworld. I tend to prefer horror fiction to any other, though I also enjoy urban fantasy, dark fantasy, and some sci-fi. I also like humor books, but those tend to be genre mixes like Christopher Moore, Terry Pratchett, Gregory McDonald, etc. And I love comic books and graphic novels, though lately I haven't been reading any. It's an expensive hobby. (Incidentally my other two heroes are Steve Martin and Jim Henson.)

My favorite movies are Evil Dead 2 and L.A. Story. Horror and comedy are my two big genres, though being a screenwriter/story analyst, obviously I have many, many movie loves. I could go on at GREAT length.

My favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer (every season, even 6&7), though the Muppet Show and Sesame Street obviously had a huge influence on me. I also fall asleep most nights to episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 or Rifftrax. Like my reading and movies, my TV tastes run to "genre". That said, anything with strong writing will grab me. I think The Americans was the best written show of the last decade.

My favorite musician is Tori Amos (I've seen her live several times) and my favorite group is The Ramones. My music tastes are fairly wide-ranging. Piano songstresses, old-school punk, melodic heavy metal, doom rock, 70s folk, etc. Oh, and Weird Al. Whatever category he's in.

And my favorite food is mild chicken saag with cheese naan. Spinach curry is amaaaazing...

Outside the box favorites? My favorite smell is freshly cut grass. My favorite class in elementary school was French. My favorite breed of dog is Siberian Husky. My favorite standup comic is Kyle Kinane. My favorite Martian is Ray Walston. That's a joke for you ladies in your 80s. *wink*

I didn't know where else to put this, so I put it here. I love a couple of artforms that I don't know quite how to categorize. They are, in no particular order: burlesque, professional wrestling, and roller derby. When I lived in Los Angeles I was a frequenter of Lucha VaVoom (look it up, it's AWESOME!) and the L.A. Derby Dolls.
